What a wonderful way to begin our summer than to assist our sister parish in Detroit, Corpus Christi. 320 bags of groceries were collected on June 9th, delivered and then sorted at Christ the King Church. Thank you to all those who helped with our food drive by passing out bags the weekend before and those who drove to Detroit and participated on the day of the food drive. We appreciate all their efforts: Mary Hayden, Sharon & Ed Wright, Christine & Glen Feak, Kathleen Downer, Norma Doyle, Elizabeth Cole, Diana Crossley, Kat, Molly, Maeve & Keera Volz, Hilde Preston, Cheryl Render, Donna Krukowski, Mariel & Ken LaFleur, Matt Schnaidt, Chris Mollo, Cheryl Ankenbauer, Linda & Jim Wiseman, Scott Wright, Marianne Powell, and all our Corpus Christi family.
We are especially thankful for Jim and Linda Wiseman who provided the truck and trailer and drove the groceries to Detroit. And a thank you to Busch's Food Market for their donation of grocery bags. "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."
