COMMUNICATION Workshop Sat, APRIL 25

Workshop on:
COMMUNICATION--THE HUMAN CONNECTION:
...a guide to authentic, peace-building relationships

Saturday, APRIL 25, 2015--9:00 AM to 3:30 PM (A light lunch provided)

St. Francis of Assisi School - Music Room
2270 East Stadium Blvd; Ann Arbor, MI 48104

Purpose: To learn the five basic steps to nonviolent communication.
  • To identify life-alienating language.
  • To develop a language of connection that includes feelings and needs.
  • To learn how to give and receive empathy.
  • To feel peaceful about your interaction with others.
Feeling peaceful in a world clouded with conflict and dissent seems impossible. However, using Gandhi as a model, he said "be the change you want the world to be". Yes, we can change.

This workshop is based on the communication process as described in Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life, by Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D. (www.cnvc.org) A method of interacting with others that facilitates the flow of communication in order to resolve differences peacefully. This process is a powerful tool that helps us focus on our role in making the human connection. It builds peace within as well as compassion towards others.
