Thanks for the Food Drive from St. Francis during Lent

Thanks for the Food Drive from St. Francis during Lent

     The St. Vincent de Paul Service Committee would like to thank all St. Francis parishioners who donated food and personal products during our Lenten Food Drive. Your contributions allowed us to deliver on March 30, 2014, more than 509 bags of groceries as follows:

-    158 bags to CSS Northside run by Catholic Social Services;
-    123 bags to HOPE;
-    149 bags to Perry Nursery;
-      79 bags to Corpus Christi, Detroit, our sister parish;

509 bags TOTAL.

The parishioners who delivered the food indicated that the pantries had been almost empty and the organizations were very grateful to St. Francis. We were able to touch many lives with these goods.

Thanks to all of you especially those of you who went shopping.  We thank our volunteer coordinator, Mary Hayden and all who passed out the bags after the Masses and our delivery people: Mario, Denise, Allie, and Andrew Cadavieco, Cynthia Carnevale, Dick Dehn, Christine Feak, Dick Galant, Amy Gottfried & family, Souha Hakim, Vicki Hatch, Mary Hayden, Chris Kempton & family, Rosaleen Kirk, Terry Maclean, Chris Mollo, Ginny McKillip, Jake, Kenna, and Mark Spieles, Akane & Linda Wiseman, Ed & Sharon Wright, Mary Ann Young.  We are also indebted to Mrs. Lemke's sixth grade class for stapling and the Busch's Valu Land on S. Main for providing the bags.
