Knitting for St. Francis

We want to thank all of our St. Francis Parish Knitters for your work of knitting these beautiful items for those in the community who might derive comfort, warmth, and spiritual sustenance from them.   And, thank you, also for praying for the recipients!

The note we attach reads: "Crocheted by hand and threaded with prayers of love and hope, this item is a gift to you.  May it bring blessings of comfort, gifts of warmth and the knowledge that you are loved.   - St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Prayer Shawl Ministry"

I counted today, 2013-03-15(6)...

-- 14 lap blanket/shawls;

--   1 pair mittens (adult size);

--   7 winter hats;

--   2 winter scarves;

--   1 sweater (long sleeve, 3T child size) 

My goal is to have these items distributed to one or more of the following organizations before the end of next week.

 -- St. Francis Parish Ministries: Bereavement Companioning, Home Bound & St Vincent dePaul;

 -- Oncology Center at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System;

 -- The Home of New Vision - Recovery for Women;

 -- Arbor Vitae Women's Center (baby blankets, baby hats & booties).

 -- Corpus Christi Catholic Parish, Detroit (our sister parish)
