2009 Christmas Party was Great Fun!
Thank you to those who participated in bringing this blessing to us all, especially our party coordinators: Roger Parlett (food); Mary Hayden (kitchen manager); Zach Weathers (decorations); Chris Kempton (activities), and the many servers who turn out to make this event a part of their Christmas.
Here is a testimonial from a guest:
"I wanted to send a note about how wonderful the holiday dinner went for us last Thursday, Dec. 10th. All of the volunteers were very nice and welcoming, even the young helpers.
One young man working at the craft station making the ornaments was exceptional. The task was to scratch off a black coating with a stick in order to see vibrant colors beneath, then tie a ribbon on the paper ornament for hanging. He worked so well with my four year old. He offered suggestions, he made encouraging comments about the progress of all of the little participants. That young man really made us feel welcomed.
I really enjoyed the evening and I hope that it can continue even during these dismal times. Thank you for inviting us and making such an effort to come up with free events for Perry families."
This party allows St. Francis parishioners to intermingle each year with members of our community whom we might other wise not see and encourage. One of the best aspects of the event is that it is not a charity event, but truly a joyous celebration among neighbors. This joy can clearly be seen in the eyes of the children and our volunteers. In addition to Perry Nursery School, of Ann Arbor, additional guests from the Child Care Network of Washtenaw County, were invited to join us to utilize the wonderful dishes we prepare.
Thank you to everyone who helped in any way: Agnes Alridge, Matthew Alridge, Rich Badics, Allan Beatty, Ann Bogits, Allie Cadavieco, Andrew Cadavieco, Denise Cadavieco, Felix Chmiel, Elizabeth Collins, Jack DeBona, Mary DeBona, Robert DeBona, Barbara Dehn, Richard Dehn, Katy Derezinski, Patti Dobbs, Joyce Driscoll, Margaret Dunbar, Sandi Estep, Ryan Ferris, Robin Gruber, Mary Hayden, Crystal Heft, Heidi Hepler, Holly Hepler, Victoria Hepler, Cecile Hollinshead, Kathleen Homiak, Mary Howrey, Cokey Huffman, David Jacques, Kathleen Kaveh, Andrea, AJ, Cecilia, Lillian, Miriam, Thomas & Chris Kempton, Karen Kennedy, Frederica Kilburn, Rosaleen Kirk, Judith Kovac, Zachary Lynn, Marian McNally, Cecilia Miller, David Miller, John Miller, John Miller, Christopher Mollo, Catherine Murau, Christian Murau, Martin Murau, Cathy Nichols, Roger Parlett, Mona Peterson, Paul Peterson, Cathy Pietrasiuk, Diane Purcell, Myra Raveendra, Tess Raveendra, Amy Remillard, Carol Rigg, Courtney Runchey, Ellery Sarosi, Kimm Sarosi, Mason Sarosi, Matilyn Sarosi, Kate Schneider, Ann Scott, Evan Shambaugh, Karen Shambaugh, John Sherry, Patrick Sherry, Rose Sherry, Daniel Simonelli, Patricia Simonelli, Amy Stamps-Allen, Clare Stando, Anne Stemmerich, Jennifer Suomala-Lynn, Francis Sutter, Angela Szewczul, Tuffin Wagner, Mary Wakefield, Zach Weathers, Brett Williams, Colin Williams, Carrie Wotta, Zachary Wotta, Mary Zynda, Marionette Cano & Joyce Newton.
